Taking the Pulse

On the heels of a strong 2014, RACFI opened its 2015 National Convention yesterday in Frisco, Texas, marked by a theme appropriate for the dynamic nature of RTO today—“Sharing Solutions for our Evolving Business.”

Kicking off the first full day, franchisees were welcomed by RAC and RACFI leadership including President & COO Mitch Fadel.  Presenters recapped the success of company initiatives and investments in programs such as the successful smartphone rollout, Mobile Revolution, and discussed company plans for 2015.  The group also celebrated top-performing stores and introduced new franchisee groups to the RACFI family.

Highlighting the addition of 28 new franchise stores, Senior VP Cathy Skula discussed the state of RACFI. Impressive growth took place for the company in its first full year of franchising under the RAC brand. She emphasized the numerous benefits of continued alignment between RAC corporate and franchised locations focused on ensuring a seamless customer experience.  “With the rapid changes taking place in RTO, we thought our theme ‘Sharing Solutions for our Evolving Business’ to be an ideal fit for this year’s convention,” Cathy explained off-stage.  “We’re pleased with our 2014 growth, and enjoy seeing so many new faces at this year’s convention.”

Leaders also came together on stage to present a very special gift to Kids Across America. Together with their franchisees, Rent-A-Center donated more than $31,000 to KAA, sponsoring children to attend KAA’s life-changing summer camp in Branson, Missouri. President of KAA, Gregg Bettis, received the check on behalf of the organization.

Franchisees then attended the Vendor Buying Show, which included exclusive buying opportunities as well as newly-developed Product Sales Training from vendors on the floor including Ashley, Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, and more. Operations VP Fred Mattox enjoyed seeing all the vendors and franchisees in action, adding, “Not only are our franchisees able to get great deals, but for 2015 we also added a new feature to the buying show—sales training directly from the vendors. I’m excited to see so many of our franchisees and their managers taking advantage of these benefits today. We’ve put together a lot of programs for this conference designed to make a day-to-day difference in the stores.”

But it wasn’t all just study and learning. To continue the first day’s celebration and fellowship, franchisees, vendors, and RACFI support personnel were treated to a fun evening of bowling, billiards and games at the nearby Main Event entertainment complex.
